An independent brand of eyewear, Etina has created a collection with a wide range of colors and designs for everyone who wants to express him or herself beyond the cannons imposed by the momentary fashion trends. The Etnia collection focuses on color, design, comfort, value and quality by means of the acetate colors and textures which their designers created in Barcelona.
The unique plastic that is used to create Etnia frames is produced by mixing pulverized cotton and acetone to create a paste, color is added, then cured, cut, laminated, and set in molds where they are pressed into block form and aged for a period of 12 weeks. These blocks are the basis from which the acetate sheets that make their plastic frame fronts and temples are created. (Acetate is the only plastic that is not petroleum base it is mostly cotton based).
Etnia Barcelona is committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable products. As a 21st century company, our awareness of the environment means that we use a 100% eco-friendly acetate, made from natural organic elements (cotton and wood pulp), which is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
